Sećanje na Vukotu Babovića

Svaštara

Proleće 2008

Dear Ms Vujosevic
As you will be aware, we had offered to accept the award you are making to Mr Harold Pinter on Mr Pinter’s behalf.  Andrew Glass, the British Council Director here and a member of my Embassy staff, had planned to attend your ceremony for this purpose.

Unfortunately it now seems that Mr Pinter wishes to use this occasion to make a political statement with which we, as an Embassy, cannot be associated.

In the circumstances we are unable to follow through on our earlier offer to collect the award for him.  We have informed Mr Pinter’s staff of this decision, and have suggested to them that they contact the University to make alternative arrangements.

I am very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

With best wishes,

Stephen Wordsworth
